Morning In The Garden

I spent the morning in the garden, blissfully unshod with toes curling around black soil. My Border Collie was working quality control. I had on my favorite Thai Fishing pants and a tank top, the capri style and bare feet making me feel like someone from another place or time. Gibson kept a close eye on the frogs that hopped around me and tasted an earthworm before spitting it out. So far my scrappy pile of cobbled together raised beds (made of everything from logs to old slate roof tiles to boards) are sprouting kale, lettuce, romaine, peas, broc, and red onions. It's not a bad start for early May in these parts. Gibson approved them, at least. That's something.
