The End of The Woodpile
It is almost time to stop lighting the evening fires here. With the next few days hitting near seventy degrees, the woodpile is one of the last concerns on my mind right now. That in itself is a mighty paradigm shift. All winter I belonged to the First Church of Firewood and now I am almost free from that congregation. I'll miss it, but I secretly must admit that I am excited for a little exile. The First Church of Firewood gets stuffy in late April and intolerable in May. I'll report back for worship when Merlin and I drag the first fallen trees around Midsummer back to the chopping blocks. But for now, I'm running out of the church barefoot and laughing. Time for some happy sinnin' around these parts.
